What does a hydrogen facial involve?
The treatment has several stages. First the skin is gently cleansed. Then the hydrodermabrasion device, using suction and a jet of water enriched with hydrogen and acids, exfoliates dead skin and unblocks the pores. At the same time hydrogen molecules and active substances from the accompanying products penetrate the skin. Finally a soothing or nourishing mask is applied, matched to the needs of your complexion.
Why is hydrogen so valued in skincare?
Molecular hydrogen (H2) is the lightest and smallest molecule in nature - it passes freely through cell membranes, reaching the mitochondria and the cell nucleus. There it selectively neutralises the most aggressive free radicals (hydroxyl radicals) without touching the beneficial free radicals needed for cell signalling. This antioxidant action slows ageing at a level that is out of reach for most creams.
Who is it for and how often?
The hydrogen facial is suitable for every skin type: from oily through dry to sensitive. It is particularly beneficial for acne, dull skin, enlarged pores and skin exposed to smog and oxidative stress. The treatment requires no recovery time - straight afterwards the skin is radiant. The recommended frequency is once every 4-6 weeks as maintenance, or once every 2 weeks in an intensive series.
